The Heber Senator Murder Mystery Dinner Event

What is a Murder Mystery event?

On select dates, The Heber Senator Bed and Breakfast hosts a Murder Mystery dinner event. These shows include a chef-prepared dinner where you will suddenly find yourself in the middle of a crime scene. Everyone is a suspect - even you!

To solve the murder mystery, you’ll need to work with other guests to gather important clues which were provided at the beginning and throughout the dinner. However, keep in mind that one of the guests will be the murderer - could it be you?

It’s important that you determine who your allies are early in the game. While some of the characters will help you, others may have been told to hinder your path toward the truth. Don’t be hurt if some of the guests act standoffish with you - it may just be because their character is hiding a secret they don’t want you to find out!

Hide Your Secrets

Your character may have some secrets you don’t want other guests to know. In that case, you’ll want to keep your secrets close to you and only share general information about your character. Other guests will be more likely to share information if you volunteer information about yourself first. During the murder mystery event, don’t be afraid to eavesdrop on other people’s conversations as you may just find out something useful!

Have Fun

Even if you or your group didn’t discover the murderer’s identity, the night is still a success if you had fun. Murder mystery dinners can help you escape the reality of life for a few hours. The point of a murder mystery (besides solving the mystery) is to socialize with other people and work together toward a common goal. At the end of the evening, you’ll have a new story to tell your friends.

Your Murder Mystery dinner event comes with your choice of the following entrées.

Prime Rib

Seasoned and slow cooked to perfection, you will enjoy an 8oz cut of our delicious prime rib which is accompanied by your choice of creamy or fresh horseradish and au jus sauce.

This entrée is combined with non-alcoholic beverages, salad, Chef-choice side dishes and Chef-choice dessert.

Creamy Chicken Piccata over Linguini

Our chef offers a unique twist to this classic Italian/American dish starting with a tender chicken breast topped with his own special creamy piccata sauce which has a softer, lemon-butter flavor. Then a tart burst of capers are added for that zing! All this on top of a bed of linguini pasta.

This entrée is combined with non-alcoholic beverages, salad, Chef-choice side dishes and Chef-choice dessert.

Vegetarian Lasagna

Homemade baked lasagna with a marinara sauce accompanied by sautéed zucchini, bell peppers, mushrooms and garlic all layered with a combination of Ricotta and Cottage Cheese then topped with Mozzarella Cheese which is then baked to perfection. It is then served with a zesty, marinara sauce on top.

This entrée is combined with non-alcoholic beverages, salad, Chef-choice side dishes and Chef-choice dessert.

How Much Does It Cost?

The price for your Murder Mystery Dinner and Show experience is $79.00 per person. This does not include tax or gratuities for the actors, wait-staff or kitchen staff. There are a limited number of seats available for each show and most shows sell-out quickly, so we would encourage you to purchase your tickets as early as possible. If a show is sold-out you may ask to be put on a wait list.

What does it include?

The price includes your Murder Mystery Dinner and Show experience. But does not include an overnight stay at the Award Winning Heber Senator Bed and Breakfast. However, you can book an overnight stay at any time at a discounted rate, based on availability - just ask for the Murder Mystery Guest Rate when booking. This rate is only available to Murder Mystery Guests on the night of the show.

What Time Does The Event Start?

The Murder Mystery event begins at 6:30 pm with welcome hors d'oeuvres followed by dinner/show at 7:00 pm. It is important to arrive before the dinner/show at 7:00 pm as we reserve the right to refuse or turn-away late arrivals as it may interfere with the show and experience of the other participants. We strongly encourage you to arrive early as there are no refunds for late arrivals! For those guests who have paid for an overnight stay, you may check into the Heber Senator B&B anytime after 3:00 pm on the day of the event.

How Long Does The Show Last?

Each show will last 2 1/2 to 3 hours depending on the level of guest interaction.

Do I Have To Dress The Part or Interact?

No. The setting for our Murder Mystery event is the early 1900's. Our performers will be in character and may be in period attire. You are welcome to 'dress the part' as well but it is not required. Guests may be offered small acting parts, lines or interactions OR they may choose to be silent observers. The choice is up to you - you're there to have fun!

Can We Stay At The B&B On The Night Of The Event?

Yes! You can book an overnight stay at any time at a special, discounted rate - based on availability. Simply ask for the Murder Mystery Guest Rate when booking. This rate is only available to Murder Mystery Guests on the night of the show. If you are staying at the Heber Senator, you may check-in anytime after 3:00 pm on the day of the event.

Directions and Parking

We are located at 118 South 300 West in Heber City. We are approximately 45 minutes from Salt Lake and 30 Minutes from Provo. There is FREE parking on the Heber Senator property as well as directly adjacent to the Heber Senator on 300 West.

While we DO NOT offer refunds or exchanges, we will make every attempt to re-sell your tickets. Obviously, the more advance notice we receive, the better the opportunity for us to do this for you.
